Shipping
Tips for shipping:
Do not use Styrofoam peanuts!
For the love of your equipment use only foam, solid Styrofoam pads, or another material. (Nothing beats lots of crumpled-up old pages of the Sunday paper!) Styrofoam peanuts will compress during shipping and will not protect your equipment.
If you didn't listen to us and your equipment is packaged with plastic peanuts, you assume complete responsibility for the safety of said equipment. Under no circumstances should you let your local packing company talk you into using them. For your peace of mind and the safety of your equipment, insist that they use bubble wrap –– or go someplace else!
Keep the batteries at home. Do not send batteries with your equipment. We have plenty of them here and they don’t travel well.
On the outside of the shipping container write: “FRAGILE!” or “GLASS." You may also wish to write: “Scientific Equipment: EXTREMELY FRAGILE.” Either will get the shippers attention.

Note: Some of our prices include shipping but that is for the continental United States only. Please contact us for other shipping charges.
Preferred methods of shipping:
USPS – Priority Mail: reasonably priced and very reliable. It usually takes no more than three days from coast to coast. This is our preferred method of shipping!
FEDEX – A bit more expensive, but excellent service. They can handle items too large for USPS.
We do NOT recommend or normally use UPS. They have caused too much damage and left many people with too many unsettled claims (the owner of TS&S included!). We will only use them if someone has their own account with them and assumes complete responsibility for any and all damages.

Manufacturer's Warranty
Sending a new mount for a tuneup or a Goto Nova installation may void your warranty, so you should check with the manufacturer first before sending it to. For mounts under warranty, you must positively state in writing that you accept the loss of warranty.
