About Us

Trapezium Telescopes & Services, LLC, offers various telescope-related services and products.

We formed the company because too many people were asking us to build this, fix that ... and then asking why we didn't start a company to offer these services! After a few years of this, we finally took the plunge and now offer everything from basic tune-ups to custom parts and paint jobs. In most cases, since our overhead is lower than anybody else's, our prices will be also be lower: we are located outside (way outside!) of expensive cities, so we don't have high operating expenses to pass along to the customer.

For years our founder, Steve Forbes, has been rebuilding telescopes and mounts. Some were long out of production and missing parts that needed to be replaced. If it was all possible, the new parts were made to match the original exactly. Also, with the plethora of off-shore copies of various models of mounts, it seemed that he was spending most of his time repairing and upgrading those poorly constructed items. Being by nature a perfectionist, he was less than thrilled with the low quality of products being delivered. It was obvious that improvements could be made. We are now offering that background and experience to the public.
